The department of Ophthalmology is recognized all over the country and is carrying out advanced surgical techniques in cataract surgery, oculoplastic, corneal transplantation surgery, orbital and lacrimal surgery, and retinal & vitreous surgery. The Department is fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and has an extremely eminent faculty.
The department has been a pioneer in the field of phacoemulsification, carrying out sutureless cataract surgery without injectable anesthesia (anesthesia administered via eye drops). It boasts state-of-the-art equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The department is committed to providing the highest quality care, aiming for the best possible distance and near vision after cataract surgery.
Recently, the department has acquired the latest phacoemulsification machine, enabling the implantation of intraocular lenses (IOLs) through incisions as small as 1.8 mm. This advancement in cataract surgery has ushered in an era of newer and innovative intraocular lenses. Accommodative intraocular lenses allow patients to visualize near objects and read without the aid of spectacles. Additionally, multifocal lenses are available, providing patients with clear vision at near, intermediate, and far distances without the need for spectacles. Toric lenses offer correction for preexisting astigmatism.
